For Sale 911 Porsche: 996 Porsche For Sale


The 996 Porsche (911) was replaced by the 997, the production of the 996 was between 1998 and 2005; actual models are 1999 through to 2005. The number 996 refers to the company's internal name for this particular version of the 911.

The 996 at its debut had the most major changes made to any Carrera model since the 911 was first introduced in 1963. These most significant changes included body style, engine.

As is the case with all 911 models, there were several different styles of the 997. The various trims differed in driver train, body style, and equipment. The 996 was eventually replaced by the Porsche 997 (2006 to 2011). 

996 Porsche Standard Specifications and Features:

Engines & Power: All the 911 Carrera models have a 3.6L 315 hp H6 engine, Horsepower 315 hp @ 6,800 RPM with 273 lb-ft @ 4,250 RPM of Torque, except for the Turbo and GT2. The Turbo has a 3.6L 415 hp H6T engine, Horsepower 415 hp @ 6,000 RPM with 415 lb-ft @ 2,700 RPM of Torque, while the GT2 has a 3.6L 456 hp H6T engine, Horsepower 456 hp @ 5,700 RPM with 457 lb-ft @ 3,500 RPM of Torque

Transmissions: A standard 6 Speed Manual Overdrive transmission comes with all models. An Optional 5-Speed Automatic Overdrive is available for all models except for the GT2.

Fuel Economy: The 2003 911 Carrera Cabriolet, Carrera Coupe and Targa offer 18 mph in the city and 26 mph on the highway. While the 911 Carrera Cabriolet and Carrera 4S Coupe offer 17 mph in the city and 23 - 24 mph on the highway. And the Turbo and GT2 spit out 15 mph in the city and 22 mph on the highway.

Comfort & Convenience: Air Conditioning, Cruise Control (except for the GT2), Tachometer, Leather Steering Wheel, Telescopic Steering Column, Trip Computer, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Driver Multi-Adjustable Power Seats (except for the GT2), Leather Seats and Second Row Folding Seat (except for the GT2). Sunroof is standard with all models except for the Cabriolets and the GT2.

Entertainment: Radio, Cassette Player and CD player.
Safety: Driver and Passenger airbags are standard on all models; Front Side Airbag with Head Protection also comes standard. Power Door Locks, ABS Brakes and Trunk Anti-Trap Device come standard with all 2003 models.

Traction Control is standard only with the Turbo, and Stability Control is standard with the Carrera 4 Cabriolet, Turbo and Carrera 4S.
